My self esteem and confidence, in a matter of nearly a two week period, has gone through the roof.

I am 48 years old and just recently had breast augmentation on November 13, 2008. I am nearly 2 weeks post-op and words cannot describe how I feel. I have wanted to have this done for 25 years and I finally decided that the time was right. I had done so much research on breast augmentation, I almost felt as though I could perform the surgery myself if given the opportunity. My self esteem and confidence, in a matter of nearly a two week period, has gone through the roof. I feel 100% complete now as a woman. For the first time in my life, I feel absolutely sexy and vivacious. I have always been a very petite woman and very self conscience about my weight. My surgery went very well and my doctor and his crew were absolutely the best. I had gone to two plastic surgeons and chose to have the second doctor I saw to perform my surgery. The reason was the second doctor had so much more experience and also was a professor and taught plastic surgery. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one I had. I must be truthful and tell you that I did have a melt down moment on my 5th day after surgery. My breasts were feeling so engorged and tight and I was in a bit of pain and I honestly broke down and sobbed but it lasted only 15 minutes. I chose to go to my bath room and look at myself in the full length mirror and remember why I did this. After that, smooth sailing. I am currently doing my exercises to stretch the scar tissue that sometimes forms over the implant. Each day gets better and better. I have a follow up appointment with my doctor in a week and I've got to say that I am quite anxious to see him. Last week he told me that my breast were in great position and that everything was looking very well. Prior to my surgery, I was an "A" cup at best. I decided to go to a full "C" cup and my doctor agreed that it was the perfect size to go to for me.

I had the Mentor saline filled breast implants and I read all the information Mentor has out there about there implants. I went into my surgery feeling quite confident about my decision to move forward with this surgery and with my doctor's help, got the best results that I could have imagined. I did not expect to feel this great so soon after surgery but I do. I have followed my doctor's instructions exactly as he requested and I feel this is the key to a successful recovery and outcome. I decided, and to each his own, to only let a very few of my family and friends know I was having this done. I took a few days off from work and the gentleman that I date, took me to my surgery and took care of me for 3 days following the surgery. He was the best. To those of you who are considering this, I can only tell you about my experience and it was one of the best events of my life. The way I feel about myself now as a woman is complete satisfaction and as I stated prior, my self esteem shot through the roof. I am looking forward to buying my first new bra, not to mention the new shirts that I can now purchase. I tease the man that I date that I will be out of control here is a few more weeks and he smiles. Ladies, good luck to those of you who move forward on your surgery. This was a life altering experience for me and I love they way I look now.
Breast Augmentation Story: Do it for YOU! Do your research! and remember... You deserve to put YOURSELF first!

Hi Everyone! I'm so pleased to share my story as I have really enjoyed reading everyone else's when I was still researching myself! I hope this helps!

This is my start to finish from 38A-B's to 38D's with 500cc saline-filled, sub-muscular Mentor breast implants.

I have always felt unbalanced. I had size 38A-B's with a fuller midriff and "Jlo-like" buttocks. I dreamed of the day when I could justify the money to get a breast augmentation and truly feel confident about myself. So many times I had to put that pretty low-cut dress back because I had an empty breast-bone space where a little sexy cleavage should have been. I dreaded the summer-time because my padded bra's made my boobs terribly uncomfortable with sweat. Swim-suits were embarrassing. Plus, one breast was quite smaller than the other and the cup of my bra would work it's way to the middle of my chest instead of staying in place. It was quite awkward adjusting that throughout the day, i might add.

Well, one day, I had a visit with my aunt, who 5 years ago had a breast lift and augmentation done by Dr. Ken Dembny with Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Specialists in Wauwatosa, WI. I was curious about how the surgery went for her, and how happy she was with the results. She explained how it all went great and her only two regrets were not going just a little bit bigger and not getting it done years ago. I explained that I would probably be waiting quite a while before I would be able to do justify it for myself. I thought I would wait until after I was married, had a house, and was done having babies. Then maybe I could think of myself.

My aunt then asked me a question that sparked a wildfire in my mind: "Why not now?".

She went on and explained that there will never be a better time than now. There will always be something else to come first, some other focus for your attention and your money, always just one more hurtle before you can take care of yourself. Besides, I have friends that spent at a lot of money on their "dream car" or "home-entertainment center". I just don't want things like that. I'd rather spend my money on something that really matters to ME. I thought about it.... She was right! What better time to do something for myself than right now? I deserve this!

I did a lot of on-line research and pretty much knew about all of the risks and recovery as well as the pro's and con's of sub-mammary, sub-muscular; saline, and memory-gel. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Harvey Bock at Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Specialists, and had a wonderful experience. I tried on a bra with different sized implants tucked inside and instantly knew that this was going to be the best thing I could ever do for myself. Nothing would make me happier. I scheduled my surgery before I left that day.

I couldn't wait for my big day! That day was yesterday, and I could not believe how comfortable I was through the entire experience. Every single doctor, nurse, and aid made me feel comfortable and cared for. In fact, I was so happy, I woke up smiling in the recovery room!

Yesterday and today I felt sore and swollen, but it's quite manageable with the pain-meds prescribed to me. I just feel like I'm a bit sore as if I were lifting weights at the gym or something. I'm happy I took a full week off of work to allow myself to heal comfortably though.

I know it's only one day after my surgery, but I can't get over how beautiful they are! They are quite puffy at the top, but I'm not worried because I read that this is normal and over time they will settle to their natural positions. I can already see that they are the perfect size and bring my figure to a full sexy shape from top to bottom. I'm so happy I did this! I am just glowing with excitement looking forward to the sexy dresses and bras in my future!

If you are thinking about this: Do it for YOU! Do your research! and remember... You deserve to put YOURSELF first!
I had breast implants done 5 days ago and I feel great! 5 Years ago I had a lumpectomy done on my right breast,it left a small scar that was not too noticable but as the years went by,my right breast sent south alot faster than my left and as my husband an I spend our vacations on tropical beaches that are sometimes topless,I was feeling really selfconcious last year when we were in Mexico. My husband is wonderful and would never have said that I looked funny but I felt ugly and unballanced. So for my birthday he told me to go do it!!

After doing the research and finding the right doctor, I had 4 appointments with him before, one that my husband came to,I felt very secure in what I was about to do.

I went from a small B to a full C,and had the Mentor Gels breast implants put in, the first 3 days were weird,,I had a pain pump and I would recomend that for every one,but you have to carry it around with you and there are tubes hanging out of the side of your breast, but the only hard time I had was getting to a sitting position, the first 3 days it is important to have someone with you to help you get up just to go to the bathroom. This is day 5 and I feel the nerves tritching on the left side every once in a while, but other than that I feel great and am getting bored sitting at home.

If this is something that you want to do....DO IT! maybe I am jumping the gun a little after only 5 days,,but I feel great considering, and I would do it again tomorrow! And they look beautiful already!
Breast Augmentation: It's a decision I made after years of contemplation.

I decided to have breast augmentation after my third child was born. It's a decision I made after years of contemplation. I didn't even fit into an A cup bra, and wanted to fit into my clothes better and not feel as flat as a 10 year old girl. I wanted to feel like a grown woman. I'm tall and athletic, and also wanted to look more in proportion. I had the surgery 6 months ago, and am very happy with the results. My surgeon is incredible! I would recommend him to anyone. I am now a 34C and look amazing! My husband isn't complaining either. He loved me just the way I was, and was very supportive through the whole experience. He allowed me to decide on how big, etc... on my own. When I woke up from the surgery, I felt like my milk had just come in. If you've had kids, you know what I mean. A few days after that, I was back to work. I was sore, but it felt like a had pulled a muscle really bad. But, every day, it got better. My breasts were hard, and didn't move much, but with instructions from my doctor for massaging them, they are now soft, and natural feeling and moving. For the first time, I can wear a bikini and be confident in the way I look in it!
I was 18 when i realized i wasn't going to be any larger than a 36 AA. I was so self conscious of my body. Well, the top half anyways. I felt like I never belonged in the bra department and heaven forbid i buy a tube top or low cut shirt. All of my bras had large padding so I could at least look a normal A cup beneath my clothes. I never thought i would go through with surgery but my cousins recommended an excellent surgeon (they both had the procedure) and I had to check him out. Three weeks after my initial consultation my surgery was scheduled. Today is the day after my procedure. I ended up going with 250 cc soft round moderate profile saline.

I'm in pain, but not a lot. It hurts a bit to breath mainly because it moves my chest muscles. My arms feel paralyzed too. Its hard to grab things that are 6 inches in front of me and i can barely get out of my chair. I know things will only get better and that's what is keeping me going. I'm so glad i went through with it and I can't wait until they heal and I can put on a sexy bathing suit this summer! I now look like a 23 year old women and not a 12 year old girl.
I had my surgery in February of 2008. I went from a small A to a C. I had some pain and was off work for 3 days. I was sore but it is totally worth every ache. I liked it when I read that one woman said that her arms didn't know what to do. I think that was the thing that I had to get used to. My arms just rubbed against them. I never had that before. I actually have boobs... YEAH.... If you are thinking about it.. do it... My doctor and his staff were great. The nurse that was helping me decide how big I wanted to be helped me out alot. She told me to go a bit bigger than I thought so I did. I am so glad... Do it if you are thinking about it.... JUST DO IT!!
I had lost 83 pounds and my breasts were the first to go. So, after a year and a half of research and wondering if I should go thru with it or not, I did it. I had a lift and implants. Before surgery, I was a 36B and I am now a 36D and I couldn't be happier. I was sore for a couple of days but 4 1/2 months later, I feel it was the best thing I have done "for myself" in a long time. My best advice to anyone thinking of going thru w/the surgery is make sure you are doing it for "you" and no one else and do your homework on the pros and cons.
I have two beautiful children, but after breast feeding both of them I wanted to have beautiful breasts again. After much research into what breast augmentation could do for me I decided to go ahead with the surgery. Dr. Quinn in Overland Park Kansas did an outstanding job. I had surgery on a Tuesday and was out and about on Friday. My recovery was so easy and not nearly as painful as I was expecting. I was so self concious about myself before the surgery and now I walk around with my head held high! My friends tell me how real they look and how beautiful they are... I finally have the body that I have always wanted and I have Dr. Quinn to thank for that!
I was a 'C' in high school, but after 3 pregnancies and breastfeeding, I became an 'A' and they were extremely saggy. I often referred to them as tube socks...my breasts were in desperate need of some repair. After my first baby 6 yrs. ago, I started thinking about breast augmentation but knew that I was not done having kids. So I decided to wait. I had my surgery exactly 10 days ago and I couldn't be happier with my decision! I went back to a small C (475cc), had a lift, plus a little lipo around the axillae (underarm region) to really get that nice round shape I wanted. I didn't expect as much pain as I experienced, but it was totally worth it! I already feel more at peace with myself. I can't wait to go shopping and start my workout routine again! Dr. Broadway and his staff were amazing!

To anyone thinking of having breat aug...GO FOR IT! Thanks Mentor!
